Apple announced that the new Apple TV’s sale, which was unveiled on 1st Sep, 2010 for $99, will surpass 1 million units by the end of this week.
The new Apple TV is smaller than the previous one and enable people to stream and rent movies, videos and TV shows from iTunes to their TV. It also allows users to use Netflix, podcasts and Flickr. Users can stream multi-media content from their computer and also the devices based on iOS through AirPlay.
In 2007, Apple released its first Apple TV. The first Apple TV can store the whole iTunes stuff in it. But never the latest version. In Sep, 2010, Apple CEO, Steve Jobs said that the users do not want to store content any more, they want stream content.
