Since some pictures about new iPhone case came out on the internet, arguments about whether it is the iPhone 5 or the new Verizon iPhone 4 appear all the time. Finally Apple Inc. brought us the answer- it is the Verizon iPhone 4.
On Tuesday, Apple released the CDMA iPhone 4 together with Verizon, the largest wireless carrier in the United States. From February 3, the qualified Verizon customers could pre-order the CDMA iPhone 4 online. And the phone will be available on Verizon on February 10.
Just like the GSM version of iPhone 4, the CDMA iPhone 4 is equipped with high-resolution Retina Display, 5-megapixel camera with LED Flash, and front facing camera, FaceTime, A4 processor, etc.
However, in order to solve the “death grip” of iPhone 4, Apple redesigned the CDMA iPhone 4 antenna according to the case photos, provided by SmartPhone Medic. The gaps in the iPhone 4 design, infamously responsible for Apple’s “antenna-gate” issues are no longer present at the “death grip” locations.
In order to face the coming competition, AT&T made an announcement of a $49 price-point for Apple’s 8GB iPhone 3GS.
David Christopher, chief marketing officer of AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets, said:
We want to deliver the best, most complete package for our customers–from price, to speed, to worldwide access, and more. Combined with our new, lower monthly data plans beginning at just $15 a month, this new price brings even more value to one of the most popular devices in our leading lineup of smartphones. We’re very excited for more people to experience iPhone on the nation’s fastest mobile broadband network.
Undoubtedly, the Verizon iPhone 4 is great news for CDMA users. A large quantity of Verizon customers will become the iPhone 4 users in the near features. And Apple is the biggest winner.
