The Samsung Chromebook Goes on Sale

On Wednesday, people could order Google’s laptop, the Chromebook, from and Amazon.

The Chromebook is more or less a portal for the Web and has no programs and no desktop. It relies completely on the Web for all functions.

The new Samsung Chromebook Series 5 is 12.1 inches, and the Wi-Fi version is $429 while the 3G model costs $499.

The laptops come with an astonishing 10-second start-up and will promise to give 8.5 hours of battery life.

And it equipped with Intel Atom processor N570 featuring 512KB x 2 cache and 1.66GHz processor speed, plus a 12.1-inch WXGA display with 1280 x 800 resolution and 300 cd/m² brightness.

Other Main Features Include:

2GB DDR3 memory, 16GB mSerial ATA Solid State Drive, built-in 1.0MP high-definition webcam, 2 USB ports, embedded 3G mobile broadband technology, built-in wireless LAN (802.11a/b/g/n), weighs only 3.3 lbs, just 0.8″ thick and the Chrome operating system is preinstalled.
