iPhone 5 Component Orders Are Slashed for Weak Demand

It’s reported that Apple slashes parts of  iPhone 5 component orders because of the weak demand this quarter. It’s unexpected. iPhone has just been on market for 4 months.

“Apple’s orders for iPhone 5 screens for the January-March quarter, for example, have dropped to roughly half of what the company had previously planned to order, two of the people said.

The Cupertino, Calif., company has also cut orders for components other than screens, according to one of the people.

Apple notified the suppliers of the order cut last month, the people said.”

It’s said that Apple is preparing to release its next-generation iPhone in the middle of this year in order to shorten its product update cycles harder.  There have been report that Apple will launch a cheaper versionof the iPhone with some changes  so as  to help the company slow the momentum of Android and its leading manufacturers Samsung.
