Microsoft launched the new Surface 2 and the Surface Pro 2 at an event Monday in Manhattan. While extending battery life and slimming down the tablet’s overall profile with skinnier covers, both the Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 seem like nice, evolutionary updates to the first models, feature 1920×1080 screens that have been color-tuned for greater accuracy and will be available starting October 22.
The Surface 2 is a greatly improved Surface RT, which features a slightly slimmer body, an updated 1.7GHz Nvidia Tegra 4 processor, and a higher-resolution screen than the original Surface. Surface 2 also has improved front and rear cameras (3.5MP front, 5.0MP rear) for Skype and other Webcam use.
Here are the tablets figures
The new Surface Pro 2 features Windows 8.1, a self-reported Intel Core i5-4200 “Haswell” CPU running at 1.6 GHz, 4GB or 8GB of RAM, a bigger battery, and an improved kickstand. According to Microsoft, the Surface Pro 2 will be 20% faster than the original Surface Pro — “lightning fast.” Graphic performance is also up 50% from its predecessor.
