Something about Microsoft’s Surface

The Surface, the first tablet directly from Microsoft, combing laptop and tablet function in a single device, is available in two models, one is the NVIDIA based which runs Windows RT and other one is Intel based which runs Windows 8 Pro.

So far, Microsoft’s Windows Surface RT is doing pretty well. It has quite a splash on the market. By many accounts, sales seem to be going well. Whether the RT tablet will be enough to build the brand’s presence remains a mystery.

While those that are interested in the Surface tablet, but not interested in some of the limitations of the RT environment are waiting for the Surface Pro. Microsoft plans to release the Surface Tablet with the full version of Windows 8 Pro in January 2013. The Pro tablet will have the full functionality of the Windows 8 system, a higher resolution screen and a third generation i5 processor. Now, German retailer has started taking pre-orders for the Pro hardware and has revealed a price; €909 ($1,161 or £726).

Both devices are listed as being deliverable in three to four weeks, so official word from Microsoft on the pricing shouldn’t be far away.
