As Apple’s iPhone 5, or perhaps the iPhone 4S, is expected to arrive in September with a faster processor, news about that the sixth generation in 2012 could boast wireless charging technology is released by the Wall Street Journal.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple is already at working on a major iPhone revamp for the product’s sixth iteration. The phone, which will launch sometime in 2012, is said to include a “new way of charging the phone.”
The 2012 iPhone will be a thinner device with a 3.7 inch Retina Display, a gesture-based home button, and “cable-free juicing.”
In the last two years charging mats have begun appearing in the mobile phone industry using inductive charging technology, which uses the electromagnetic field to transfer energy between two objects. For example, HP’s Touchstone wireless charging technology.
